Frede Lamo

Frede Lamo from Norway is a pro wildlife photographer based in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. He has lived in Longyearbyen for more than 10 years. Frede is our operation manager in Longyearbyen and also an Expedition Leader.

Frede has a passion for the polar regions, and he has been working as a guide and photographer in the Arctic and Antarctica. Frede is educated as a police officer. He has worked for the police in Svalbard for more than 6 years. He has also worked at the University of Svalbard (UNIS) in the technical department with responsibility for operations and field safety.

Frede has a strong engagement with climate change and how this will affect the animals that live in Svalbard. He uses most of his time out in the field, in search of the Arctic fox or the polar bear. Frede uses Sony cameras.
