Privacy & Policy
Your privacy is important to us. Since WildPhoto Travel is a European company we are following the strict General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which protects your privacy and security. On this page, we will describe what personal information we collect, when we collect it, and what we do with the information. We will also describe your choices and your rights.
What information do we collect and why do we collect it?
We collect information from you to deliver our services to you. If you sign up for our WildPhoto Newsletter we will only store your name and email address in our Mailchimp system. We will never ask you for any sensitive information. Since we are not offering any online sales on this website, we will never request or store any information about your bank accounts, credit cards, etc.
If you have an interest in any of our photo expeditions and click on the buttons labeled "Request more information" or "Reserve a spot", we will receive an email from you which we will answer as soon as possible. We will not ask about sensitive information, credit card numbers, etc when you consider booking a photo expedition with us.
If you decide to secure a spot on a WIldPhoto Travel expedition you have to give us some personal information on the booking form and send you an invoice for the deposit payment. This information includes your name, gender, physical address, phone number, date of birth, birthplace, nationality, passport details, the insurance company (emergency phone number and insurance number), email address, emergency contact name, and phone number, special requirements (allergies, special diet, etc), and medical conditions. We may also gather information about flights or other transportation, and visa information. This information can be collected at the time of registration or via subsequent communications.
We may record some information about you automatically (including with technology like Cookies)
How do we use your personal information
We use information about you to communicate with you. If you have signed up for our WildPhoto Newsletter
we will send you opted-in marketing and announcement newsletters 5-10 times a year.
For registration information provided to us in the booking form, we use the collected information to make sure you are registered properly in the ship's manifest and to deliver you the best experience during the expedition. This means that we may be using the information to communicate with you, the chef onboard (to provide you with the food you require), with travel providers to ensure a smooth travel experience (for example, providing passport numbers that may be required for hotel registrations), and with our expedition leaders who are responsible for the safety and quality of the expedition.
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to access, update, have changed, or have deleted any personal information we keep on file for you, by contacting us at booking@wildphoto.com. You can also elect to not receive marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in the bottom of the newsletters.
Where do we store and process personal data?
Personal information from the booking forms is stored in Google Drive with restricted access to only the employees in WildPhoto Travel who need access to this information.
The collected information (name and email address) for the WildPhoto Newsletters are stored in the Mailchimp system, which can only be accessed by employees in WildPhoto Travel in charge of newsletter campaigns.
How do we secure personal data?
When uploading personal data to Google Drive, it gets encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL encryption protocol. While on Google’s servers, your data remains encrypted at rest with AES 256-bit encryption. We have also included an additional user-specific security feature with two-factor authentication. This adds another level of protection from unauthorized access.
How long do we store personal data?
The exact periods for which we keep your personal information may vary depending on the nature of the information and why we have collected it. Usually, we will store personal information until the expedition is finalized and including the period during which a claim can be made with respect to an agreement or other matter. You may delete your information at WildPhoto Travel by contacting us at booking@wildphoto.com and we will delete the personal information we hold about you. Please note that in the course of providing our services, we collect and maintain aggregated, anonymized or de-personalized information which we may retain indefinitely.
