About Jonas
Jonas Beyer is a Danish wildlife photographer, documentary filmmaker, and expedition guide specializing in the polar regions and remote wilderness environments. Through photography and film, he loves to capture intimate moments from the natural world with a strong focus on authenticity, emotion, and conservation.
For more than a decade, Jonas has worked at some of the planet’s untouched landscapes. He spent five years guiding full-time from pole to pole, leading expeditions and photography workshops while documenting wildlife in its natural habitat.
Jonas is particularly drawn to the Arctic and its iconic species. Whether filming polar bears on drifting sea ice in Svalbard, swimming with orcas in Northern Norway, or tracking musk oxen across the Greenlandic tundra, his work is rooted in patience, field experience, and a deep respect for the animals he encounters.
His photography has received international recognition through competitions including the National Geographic Annual Photo Contest, where he was awarded 2nd place in the Wildlife category. In 2025, two of his images were highlighted in the prestigious GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, while two underwater images were also recognized in the Underwater Photographer of the Year competition. Jonas has additionally contributed as a wildlife cinematographer on a national Danish nature documentary, combining cinematic storytelling with his passion for the natural world.
At the heart of Jonas’ work is a desire to inspire connection. Through visual storytelling, he hopes to share his passion for wildlife and motivate people to better understand, appreciate, and advocate for nature in their everyday lives.
