MV Ocean Nova

Expedition ship for Antarctica

MV Ocean Nova is a modern and very comfortable expedition vessel carrying a maximum of 80 passengers. However, we have reduced the number of passengers on MV Ocean Nova to 69 guests, making it less crowded on the beaches, and also allowing us to bring more photo guides. Another advantage is we can offer more single cabins on the ship. MV Ocean Nova is one of the very few genuinely smaller ships remaining in Antarctica and South Georgia - a huge advantage for photography groups.

MV Ocean Nova was built in Denmark in 1992 to sail the ice-choked waters of Greenland, and her ice-strengthened hull is ideally suited for expedition travel in Polar regions. The vessel delivers clean, crisp Scandinavian styling, featuring comfortable outside cabins, all with private facilities, including dedicated single, twin and triple cabins. In addition to a glass-enclosed observation lounge and presentation room, there is a spacious dining room where you are served delicious meals.

The ship has 8 Zodiac boats that are well suited for excursions and wildlife watching, which is very important for photography and efficient landings. The ship was fully refurbished in 2006 and since then has benefitted from annual upgrades and improvements.

Cabins

The M/V Ocean Nova offers three categories of accommodation: dedicated Single Cabins and Twin Cabins. All cabins feature a picture window, a writing desk with a chair, a wardrobe, an individually controlled heating system, and a private bathroom with a shower.
