Welcome to an amazing Kaktovik photo tour to Barter Island on the northern coast of Alaska, where we will have some incredible close encounters with the king of the Arctic – Polar bear. Kaktovik is known for the big aggregation of bears in the autumn, only a few km away from the settlement. We will use a small boat in the mornings and evenings to photograph the Polar bears in the best light conditions.
The gathering of Polar bears in Kaktovik is very unique and this is the place to photograph bears in the water playing (sometimes it looks like fighting), and mothers with cubs. The Polar bears are located along the beach outside Kaktovik, and there are no hills or mountains around, so get ready for great sunrises and sunsets, if weather permits.
One photo leader from WildPhoto will follow the group during the Kaktovik photo tour, and make sure everyone gets the best photo opportunities.
